Our commitment

We want every learner, trainer and administrator to be able to use CourseForge, including people who use keyboards, screen readers, magnification or voice control. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

Current status

CourseForge partially conforms to WCAG 2.2 AA. We build with semantic page structure, labelled controls, visible keyboard focus, sufficient colour contrast and support for browser zoom. We have not yet completed an independent accessibility audit, so we do not claim full conformance.

Known limitations

Uploaded SCORM packages, PowerPoint imports, videos and PDFs are created by course authors, and their accessibility depends on how they were made — CourseForge cannot fix inaccessible third-party content automatically. The full-screen visual course designer relies on pointer interactions for some layout tasks. Captions for videos must be supplied by the course author. AI voiceovers can help, but authors should also provide text alternatives.

What course authors can do

Add alternative text to images, provide captions or transcripts for audio and video, use real headings and lists, keep good colour contrast, and avoid conveying meaning by colour alone. Preview courses with a keyboard before publishing.

Report a barrier

If something stops you using CourseForge, email hello@aisi.au with the page, what you were trying to do and any assistive technology you use. We aim to respond within five business days and will offer an alternative way to access the information where we can.
